Clearscope Review - DemandSage

Are you looking for an in-depth Clearscope Review to get all the information on this platform? If yes, then look no further because you’re in the right place.

Nowadays, the most important ranking factor is content. If your content is not properly written and SEO-optimized, then there are very slim chances that it will rank on search engines even if you spend a lot of time in link building. After spending hours researching and writing the actual content, your content might not be properly SEO optimized. For that, you will need the help of an SEO and content optimization tool like Clearscope.

But you can’t just go and invest in a tool that you know nothing about. That’s why I am here with this detailed Clearscope review, where I have reviewed all of its key features, working, and pricing in detail based on my personal experience with this tool. Stick till the end to find out if this tool is right for you or not.

So without further ado, let’s get started.

Clearscope Review: In A Nutshell

Clearscope is one of the best content optimization and on-page SEO tools. It is also widely used as a keyword research tool, and you can also use it to increase your website’s organic traffic. This tool was designed keeping content marketers in mind so that they can easily create optimized content that will rank on the search engines. It uses IBM Watson services to automate content optimization and SEO research.

Clearscope Review - Overview

It basically compares & analyzes all the ranking content of search engines to grade your content. To help you understand in more simple words, Clearscope scans all the important keywords that are related to your target keyword. You can use include those keywords in your content to optimize it properly for search engines. These important keywords are also known as LSI terms (Latent Semantic Index), and Google gives them a great deal of importance. So you should also include these LSI terms in your content whenever you’re writing your content.

How Does Clearscope Work?

The working of Clearscope is really simple. To get started, you need to log in to your Clearscope account, and on the dashboard, you will see a search box where you just need to enter the targeted keyword and run the report. You can also select the region & search engine, and language to run the report. You also get the option to run multiple reports at once. Once you fill in all the details, just hit the “Run Report” button.

It will scan the top 30 pages for that same keyword. You can see the average grade of their content along with the average number of words they have covered in their content. It will also show you the average monthly searches of the target keyword. On the right side of the screen, you will see an optimize button. Hit that button, and it will show you a blank editor where you just need to copy-paste your content.

They will also grade your content after comparing it with the top 30 competitors, and based on that; you will see LSI keywords on the right side of the editor. It will show you how often you need to enter a keyword and where you need to add it in the content, whether in the heading or in paragraphs. Your content grade will improve once you add those LSI terms to your content. That’s pretty much how Clearscope works.

Clearscope Key Features Explained

I have been using Clearscope for almost a year now, and let me tell you, the results I got from this have been amazing ever since. Now I am going to explain all the features of Clearscope in detail so that you can understand every aspect of this tool.

Grade Summary

When you create a report on Clearscope, the first thing that you will see on the report is a Grade Summary. You will see a brief breakdown of the top 30 pages for the targeted keyword in this box. There are three different factors you will see on this box: content grade, word count, and readability. The content grade shows the grade of the content from A+ to F- where A+ refers to the best content and F- refers to the worst content.

The second factor is word count. It will show you the total word count of your content, the average word count of the top 10 competitors, and the top 11-30 competitors. This word count feature gives you an idea that how many words your content should have. The last factor is readability which shows you the Flesch Kincaid score, where you can see how simple and understandable your & your competitors’ content is.

Keyword Research

To do the keyword research on Clearscope, you just need to click on the Keyword Search section on the dashboard. Enter a keyword, select the country, select the language, and click on the “Go” button. It will show you all the insights related to that keyword. You can see the monthly search volume, competition, CPC, and all the related terms. The keyword research tool is good but not as good as Semrush or Ahrefs’ keyword research tool.

Clearscope Review - Keyword Research

Their competition metric is nothing like the keyword difficulty you get from other keyword research tools. This just only confuses the users because it doesn’t make any sense, and to this day, I still don’t know the work of this metric and how it is calculated. That’s why I don’t rely on Clearscope for keyword research. I use it only for its content optimization feature.

Content Optimization

I love Clearscope’s content optimization feature; it helps me analyze my content and how well it is written in comparison to the top 30 competitors. In starting, I just used to write content & publish it on the website and wait for a few weeks to see how well it ranked on the search engines. Now I write the content and create a report on Clearscope for the same topic and then just copy-paste it into the editor to see the grade of my content.

Clearscope Review - Content Strategy

It shows the relevant terms suggestions on the right side of the editor and to optimize my content. I just include those terms the number of times it suggests in my content to properly optimize, and then I publish it on my website. I have been doing this for over a year, and now all pages of my website are on the first or second page of Google. That’s why I prefer Clearscope for content optimization over other tools.

Relevant Terms

Relevant terms are the LSI keywords that Clearscope scrapes after comparing all the top 30 competitors. The best part about this feature is that they not only list the terms but also how many times you should include them in your content. You can also see how many times you’ve already used those terms in your content. In a recent update, they also mention what you should include in the headings of your content.

In the heading presence metrics, you can see written high and low. If a particular term has a high in its heading presence, then you should definitely include it in the headings, and if a term has a low in its heading presence, then you can either include it in the headings or not. It won’t affect that much.

Competitors

In the Competitors section of a report, you will see the top 30 competitors for the same keyword you’ve created the report for. You can also see their desktop and mobile rankings for that same keyword. It will also show you the meta title and URL in the middle of the page, and on the right side, it will show you the readability of each competitor.

You only have to worry about the top 10 competitors because most Google users don’t even bother to check the second page for any search query.

Integrations

Clearscope integrates really well with Google Docs and WordPress. It doesn’t work with tools like Grammarly or your content management system (CMS). For that, you need to just copy-paste the content from there into the Clearscope editor. They recently launched their WordPress integration which I had been waiting for a few months. Now I can use Clearscope directly on my WordPress editor.

Customer Support

The customer support service is similar for all the premium plans, whether you are a user of its lowest or highest plans. They only offer support during business hours and working days. Other than that, you just have to wait for them to reply. A few months ago, I was stuck on a report, and I wanted to know about it in detail. I don’t recall the issue, so I won’t bore you with details.

I decided to message the support team. I filled my name, email address, and the issue in the support form and hit send request button. They got back to me within 3 hours, which is not a fast response time but not slow either. So I guess their support is pretty good.

Clearscope Pricing Plans

There are two pricing options available on Clearscope, and I have explained both of them in detail below.

Clearscope Review - Pricing

1. Essentials Plan: The pricing of the Essentials plan is $170/mo. This plan will give you everything you will need to start optimizing your content. With this plan, you can add up to 3 users, create 20 content reports, research 100 keywords, use Google docs & WordPress integrations, and optimize content in five different languages.

2. Business Plan: The pricing of the Business plan is $1200/mo. This plan is for content marketing agencies and businesses. This plan will give you all the features of the essential plan. Along with that, you can also add unlimited team members, get over 100 content report credits, custom onboarding, and content inventory monitoring feature.

If your requirements are bigger than these two plans, then you can opt for the enterprise plan, and they will create a custom plan which will match your requirements.
