Hulu is one of the top live streaming platforms in the US with 64.1 million subscribers. According to the latest report by its parent company, the Walt Disney Company, Hulu has 59.7 million SVOD subscribers, while 4.4 million are subscribed to Live TV. 

Although Hulu is exclusively available in the United States, the platform ranks 9th globally and holds 11% share (US) in the SVOD market.

How Many Subscribers Does Hulu Have?

As per the fiscal Q4 2025 report from Walt Disney, Hulu has 64.1 million paid subscribers, a 15% increase from Q3 2025. In Q4 2024, Hulu had only 52 million paid subscribers. This shows solid 12.1 million growth in just 1 year. 

Meanwhile, Disney+ subscribers reached 131.6 million during the same period. 

In Q4 2025 alone, Hulu gained 8.6 million subscribers, which is by far the most additions in a single quarter. Last solid jump came in Q4 2019, when the platform gained 8.5 million more subscribers from the previous quarter.

Hulu Live TV subscribers

Compared to Hulu SVOD, live TV’s subscriber growth is very slow. Since 2021, Hulu Live TV subscribers have ranged between 4 and 4.6 million subscribers. 

As of Q4 2025, Hulu Live TV has 4.4 million subscribers, with a 2% quarterly growth.

Hulu launched its subscription-based service “Hulu Plus” in June 2010 (later they removed Hulu Plus in 2015). Before that, it was a free, ad-supported website that primarily included popular shows that people missed on broadcast TV.

Hulu’s demographic data mostly comes from third-party surveys and viewership panels like Morning Consult and Luminate Data. Different methodologies give slightly different splits, so the sections below cite the methodology along with the figure. 

Hulu Users by Gender

After analyzing different viewership panels, the historical data says Hulu’s subscriber base has a slight female tilt. 

According to Luminate Data, 56% of Hulu subscribers are female, while 44% of them are male. Whereas Morning Consult reports 52% of subscribers are female and 48% male subscribers.

Netflix subscribers top the list with 325 million subscribers worldwide. Amazon Prime is in the second spot with 200 million subscribers. 

Hulu ranks 9th, while the sister company Disney+ grabs third place with 131.6 million subscribers. The reason Hulu ranks so low is that its availability is limited to the United States. Still, it made it to the top 10, beating global services like Apple TV.

As per the last recorded data, Hulu generated $3.2 billion in Q1 2025. By the last FY 2024, Hulu had already generated a steady $12 billion in revenue, at 7.14% YoY growth.

As per the Q4 2025 report, Hulu’s ARPU for Live TV & SVOD is $100.02 and $12.20 for the SVOD Only segment. 

Hulu Live TV crossed the $100 ARPU mark for the first time in Q3 2025.

Paramount Skydance announced its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) for a massive $110 billion deal on February 27, 2026. Following this bidding war with Netflix, Paramount+ and HBO Max will have a combined market share of 20%. So, in the future, both platforms might give tough competition to both Netflix and Prime Video.
